It's a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving

My husband is sick with the flu or some bug or something.  I love him, but he is an AWFUL patient.  He's resting comfortably now, and I'm hoping he's getting better.

I hope I don't get sick.  It doesn't look fun.

So, our Thanksgiving plans have changed.  We will be staying home.  I went to the grocery store this afternoon, and bought some stuff to make a sad little Thanksgiving dinner.  We will be having turkey breast, canned gravy, stove top stuffing, grocery store pumpkin pie, refrigerator rolls, and canned green beans.  Sad little Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.

  1. Those sad little holidays sometimes turn out to be the bext memories, as long as you're with DH! Try to have a good Turkey Day and I hope the flu passes quickly!

  2. I know that it can be hard to have plans change because of sickness. However, I agree with Lara...some of the best memories come from those unexpected detours.

Our first Christmas together, I got sick. We still remember that as one of our best holidays ever! Keep your mind and heart open...you never know what can happen.

  6. Aww -- that's sad that your hubby is sick on Thanksgiving. I hope he feels much better soon! And you're right - men make horrible patients! It's almost easier to just be sick yourself, LOL! -- Linda from On Blogging Well (ICLW #167)

  7. I've got to say, in my personal experience, men make the WORST patients. My husband got sick with something I'd had for 2 weeks, and 2 days in, he was whining and saying, "I need to go to the doctor!" I told him he was a big baby and took him to the doctor. lol

I hope you have a good Thanksgiving, even if you have to be stuck at home.

    Happy ICLW!

  8. Oh, that stinks. What is it about men that they can't handle illness AT ALL? Hope you have a nice, close Thanksgiving.
